Derren Brown to predict Lottery results

Imagine if he actually did it... would the lottery still continue? Or would it collapse after so many questions will undoubtedly be asked?

Derren Brown used “an ancient, powerful and beautiful secret, that can only be used when people get together.” He gathered 24 people, that studied the numbers from last year’s lottery draws. Each of them then wrote their predictions down on a piece of paper.

Brown then took the first number from the 24 people, added them together and divided by 24. He did the same with the five remaining numbers. The result were the numbers seen on television Wednesday evening.

According to Derren Brown, this trick won’t work if your actions are motivated by numbers. So if you plan on gathering 24 friends and doing the same thing, it probably wouldn’t work.

Now I’m no mathematician, but I’m pretty sure this wouldn’t work on lottery numbers. Sure if you were to guess the weight of a cow at some farmers market, and told 24 people to write down their guess and take the average of their guesses, you would probably get it right, but this is something else.

Funnt thing about this is all those slagging him off will be watching it just like the rest of us .. :-) Yes, of course it will be a `trick` .. i watched the `foolproof` horse racing show and figured it out before it was shown seeing as feasibly it was the ONLY way it could have been done .. I`m guessing this was filmed some time ago and runs along the same lines .. I reckon he has spent months filming all the combinations, and then the `correct` already filmed combination will be shown soon after the Draw !!!

First of all he could not predict the numbers nor could he influence the result in anyway.

This leaves two possibilities, the first is that camera trickery was used, but although a possibility I don't think it's his style.

The numbered balls were on the rack AFTER the actual draw, this again leaves us with another two possibilities, the first is that they were switched by slight of hand one at a time, which is unlikely because there were other magicians watching the trick.

My theory is that the numbers were added to the blank balls while they were sitting on the stand, there are many ways I think this could be achieved.
